Were We Born This Good?

Jul 9 by Michael Benner

I overheard something today that made me think. It was an experienced and successful developer ripping on cheap and sloppy Craigslist developers. Now, I know I have done it and many people I respect in the industry comment under their breath about projects that are "picking up garbage" created by inferior developers. But today for some reason (maybe the clarity that comes with the lack of sleep) it hit me,

Where Did That Menu Go?

Apr 2 by Michael Benner

A large intranet site I maintain and develop for has drop down menus in the header for navigation through out the site. This has worked well for them until recently. They have start making a move to more CFCharts and have started changing modules to Flex in some instances, with this start a strange menu behavior in FF2. The menus would fall behind the "Flash" movie. To fix this

OK, All Done

Oct 29 by Michael Benner

It is done...I may change the header and change some text but the CSS is in place and the site is locked down. If you notice anything odd or out of place let me know as CSS is not my strong suit.

Oct 29 by Michael Benner

Please excuse the mess while we are under reconstruction. Should be finished by tomorrow afternoon but never underestimate the delay of a busy day at the office.

Coldfusion 8 is to Web 2.0 as Coldfusion 4.x was to .com Bubble

Sep 4 by Michael Benner

That's right I said it. Web 2.0. Yup, said it again. OK, so I am sure many of you can remember back to the great days of getting data out of a database, letting a designer make it pretty and having a VC throw lots of money at the company.

Prior to Coldfusion I was writing primarily ASP sites doing the heavy lifting with Visual Basic and Transaction Server and it would take time, third party plug-ins and did I mention time. Layout Style 1

Aug 9 by Michael Benner

Not a fan of the style now that it is in place. I have a few more to try out, but always welcome feedback on this one. Also, if you want it for YOUR blogCFC site, I would be happy to send you the code for it.

Anyway, going to eat and take Angelina to Ballet practice. I will experiment with another layout tonight.

P.S. The files are linked to the blog. Just click the download button below.

One Down, MINE To Go!

Aug 8 by Michael Benner

Ok, so I finished my wife's blog today, To The Moon And Back. It turned out pretty good and the conversion of style from OST was pretty painless. She wants to change the colors (I have a thing for using/liking blue for everything), but CSS should make that pretty easy.

Thanks again Ray and OST. I will probably get to mine tomorrow night or so.
