A Little Self Help

Feb 17 by Michael Benner

So, my business partner has been away for the last week and will be gone for another week. Normally this isn't a big deal, except this time I have decided to jump into his role for the time being. Normally, I just handle the tech side of our venture and write code for our packaged software and work on the custom app stuff, but this time I am handling the front lines of customer service and sales. This has brought up

some areas I apparently have been neglecting and he has not wanted to bother me with.

I am talking mostly about the fact that ALL (OK, only most) of our sales and marketing info is in his head and not in a useable system anywhere. Some tech firm we are. What has been nice is I now see exactly what he has to deal with and can use skill set to help make his (and ultimately my) job easier. This couldn't come at a better time either, as I was looking for a project to use for my Coldbox Experimentation and I think I have found it.

Starting immediately after this post I begin work on an OPEN SOURCE (yup, I am going to give it to the world) Sales Management and Customer Service Module built on Coldfusion 8 and Coldbox 2.5.2. If you could use something like this and there are features you would like to see in them, please shoot me an email refriedchicken [AT] mac {DOT} com and let me know so I can get them in there.
