Hmmm, need something catchy for here...
Playstation 3, Blu Ray, and HDMI cables

So with the release of "300" I ran out and picked it up on Blu Ray to see its wonderful cinematography in glorious High Definition. The scene was set. I was done for the day and sitting down with my wife around 9:45pm to watch the movie. I powered everything on and sat back to enjoy.
Then after a few double takes and some setting tweaks I jumped up and ran out the door, sped to Target with 5 minutes to spare I grabbed the LAST HDMI cable in the store and raced home.
You see, my 60" HD TV had been reduced to a 30" Standard Def TV due to the lack of a HDMI cable. I remember hearing about the security of HD DVD and Blu Ray both back in the day, but up to this point I have been running both my HD DVD and Blu Ray through Component Cables with no problems, but it appears that 300 has added the security.
While this is fine with me, and I believe they can do what they want with the disc, if you are Sony, you should pack the HDMI cable with the system if this requirement is in place. These are a few of the reasons that I think the 360 will win the war and so will HD DVD. The 360 packed component cables in and HD DVD runs fine over component cables. I like my PS3 and I think the Blu Ray current available library is better than HD DVD, but they are making some mistakes.
So in closing, when picking up a PS3 at the current price cut, use the dough you saved and buy that HDMI cable.
