The Switch: Day 4 {First Day at Work}

Wow, almost forgot to post today. It was a busy day, figuring out how to work on this machine with no fall back. That's right, I jumped head first today.

No major setbacks, except for a very strange Eclipse (more specifically Aptana Synchronize) issue. It FTP'd last night without a hitch and then come today, I could not transfer a single file. So I downloaded Fetch and that worked great to get me through the day, but didn't solve my problem.

Tonight I updated all Eclipse plugins and downloaded the WebDAV/FTP SDK again. Wouldn't you know it, working again. Don't know why, don't know how, but I will be keeping my eye on it.

On other news, I try TorrentFox and hated it. Why Firefox would launch Opera (which I think is the best browser ever) to download a torrent is beyond me, but hey that is why I uninstalled it and installed Azureus. It is working as it did on my PC and will be kept.

I bought Quicktime PRO and enjoy the extras, and installed Xvid to watch some IPTV torrents. It is nice to sit back and use a "TV" remote on my laptop (which performed admirably as a small widescreen HDTV).

Played DefCon...I will be buying that shortly, it is a great throw back to the WarGames movie of the 80's. "Do you want to play Global GeoThermal Nuclear War?" I highly recommend this game for a quick time killer.
