"Mobile" Entertainment

As I sit here watching some clients play Halo 2, while I make some edits to their web app, I am reminded of somethings I have been using/doing lately and have failed to post. Sony Remote Play, Joost, iTunes, and catching up on some movies.

.

No we are saving Lair and Remote Play for last, movies first. 28 Weeks Later. Hmm, it was interesting and had a different enough plot line, but I had higher expectations. 28 Days Later (no this is no a sequel to Sandra Bullock's 28 Days, TRUST ME) was pretty much one of the better zombie films of late. But 28 Weeks seemed more like a "twitch" fill. Super fast cut scenes and a story that struggled to get me invested. I hope the third one (Yes they are making another one) goes back to its roots.

OK. iTunes. NBC. This SUCKS!!! I like iTunes...ALOT. Yes, I know there is cheaper online no DRM music (I blogged about it, remember?). But with the iPhone have have been downloading movies and TV shows for the plane (although the PSP still gets most of my attention) and I have found myself even watching movies from the MacBook in the bedroom, TV with DVI are the BEST! Now, I have bought all Battlestar content and was planning on buying this season, then NBC leaves. This sucks and I would ask NBC to come back...This hurts iTunes, but it also hurts NBC. I will no longer buy their shows because the format may change and I will be screwed, CBS keep up the good work, CSI and Enterprise on Xbox Live in HD...I will keep buying every week, now just make them work with my Zune...

JOOST. GET MORE CONTENT. (I have invites, just ask in the comments).

OK, LAIR + PS3 + INTERNET = REMOTE PLAY GOODNESS. Yes, the graphics are scaled back, but you have the ability to adjust that as well as the buffer delay. Also, with the last update you can redefine button arrangement, which was in my opinion a major oversight.

Here's the deal, it works great. It was unbelievable being in Scottsdale, AZ and playing my PS3 in Raleigh, NC. There was a small bit of lag which I adjust the settings and removed. I even did better at the game with the new control scheme. The Sixaxis control of the dragons in Lair is tough, but inventive. I am now sold on why the PS3 might beat the Xbox 360. Up until now my 360's saw more love, but I think that is about to change. Here's to developers continuing down this path.

Alright, time to call it a night. Don't forget I've got Joost invites.
